Join me for a brief info session Wednesday night at 9 in the Broome Room to organize this year's Downtown Book Club. All streams welcome.
In the past, titles have included Borroughs's Junky, Mitchell's Up in the Old Hotel, and Kurlansky's History on the Half Shell, and O'Hara's Lunch Poems. Titles will be nominated by the group (my nomination will be Michael Cunningham's Specimen Days, a novel in three parts that winds up with a love story between a cyborg and an alien lizard) and can be fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, short stories, poetry -- so long as they have some bearing on the neighborhoods around us, including outer boroughs.
Once we've determined a title and a time to meet, I'll place the book order.
Be there or be square!
