Volunteer Activity: Halloween Carnival

Come volunteer at a Halloween Carnival for the Greenwich House Preschool. We're expecting 48 kids, age 2 1/2 to 6 years. The carnival will be held on Friday, October 31st, from 10 am to noon on the 7th floor of Kimmel. We'll begin setting up at 8 am when Kimmel opens, and volunteers are encouraged to come as early as they can to help decorate the room, etc. We'll also need help taking down the room afterwards.

The carnival will include various crafts (decorating trick or treat bags, paper cutouts of pumpkins and bats, puffball spiders, paper plate masks, and jewelry), games (Mummy Wrap Relay, bean bag toss, dancing to Halloween music), snacks (cookie decorating!), a mad scientist demonstrating simple science experiments and "feeling boxes" (cooked spaghetti as intestines, etc.), and trick or treating at the offices on the 7th floor. Volunteers will be assigned to stations upon arrival, unless they have a specific talent for one station.

Other volunteers will be designated floaters, helping kids where needed and just having fun with them! Volunteers are encouraged to come in costume -- something age-appropriate, please.

There is a Facebook group to RSVP for the event, so we know how many people plan on coming. Please only RSVP if you're serious about showing up!
