Join FFiR Bryan Waterman for a walking tour of the LES, focusing on sweet treats and cheap eats -- many of which are remnants of several waves of immigrants that passed through this neighborhood. Our final destination will be a newer venue, but one whose featured food sports a peculiarly New Yorkey history: The Doughnut Plant, purveyor of what may be the best donuts on the planet. D'oh! Doughnut Plant will be on vacation until after Labor Day. I forget they do this every year. So we'll spend some FFiR bucks somewhere else along the way ...
