Scenes from the Avon Walk

Here are a few photos of the Avon Walk last wkend, courtesy of Jon Woo:

Over 5,000 people came from 46 states to participate in the walk.

Broome for Boobs sent three of them:

Stephanie, Andrea, and Jen, along with two other team members -- Tiffany and Andi -- raised over $6500 for breast cancer research and treatment.

Broome Community Group also sent a team of cheerleaders to help out at a station sponsored by God's Love We Deliver, an AIDS charity that benefits from the Avon walk and makes huge contributions to it as well, including making thousands of sack lunches. Here's our lovely cheer team:


We welcomed our walkers, gave them hugs, had them sign a huge banner, and sent them on their way. In total our walkers covered a marathon in two days.
