Community Service Event

Hello Broome Students,

Are you interested in making a difference and learning about the globe at the same time? Come to the World Affairs Stream Community Service Event this Thursday at 5pm in the Broome Room.

Burkina Faso is the 2nd poorest nation in the world and it has the lowest literacy rate across the globe. Come write pen pal letters to students in an impoverished rural village in Burkina Faso to not only learn about their lives, but introduce a new form of literacy in their classrooms.

If you cannot attend the first letter writing session on Thursday but you are interested in having a pen pal, email Jenn at jennifer.lishansky@gmail.com. All students are welcome and the more, the merrier!

Note: Letters can be written in English or French. ANY level of French is accepted and the event would be a good opportunity for practice!
