Luckily they managed to slap together a weather-proof last minute replacement by screening Woody Allen's Manhattan and providing some piping hot pizza...but then disaster struck again! The DVD of Manhattan wouldn't play!
The consistently resourceful U.A. streamers managed to settle on a screening of another Allen classic, Bullets Over Broadway. Diane Wiest's hilarious performance ("Don't speak! Don't speak!") earned her an Oscar and a whole new league of fans in the residents present (she even got a round of applause!) I
t was a great rainy day event and the film's depiction of 1920s New York was fascinating and relevant!
