deliberation refers to the ways in which citizens interact to shape
their collective life together. It is a term grounded in deep rhetorical
tradition that is being extended by Communication scholars. The current

is paramount to an informed citizenry. In fact, the conceptualization
and understanding of the world—from local issues to global
disasters—often hinges on seeking information from the media and our
involvement within the public sphere.
