The annual NYU Relay for Life, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, will
take place this year from Saturday, April 12 to Sunday, April 13 at Coles
Sports and Recreation Center. Broome Street will once again participate in
this life-changing event that celebrates the lives of those who have battled cancer, remembers loved ones lost to the disease, and gives us a chance to fight back and put an end
to the disease.
So far there are 63 teams signed up for the Relay this year and the NYU’s goal
is to raise over $230,000. Broome Street Hall Council would like the faculty
and staff to encourage residents to take part in the Relay. Time spent at
Relay will count towards the 15-hour community service requirement.
Registration can be completed online at: http://main.acsevents.org/goto/broome
Hall Council will be planning events over then next few weeks to raise funds
and residents will be asking their family and friends for donations to support
the team.
Hall Council would also like to encourage streams to consider
planning an event that could help raise money for the Broome Street Team. If
each stream raised $125 we would be able to donate more than $1,000.
If you have any questions about the Broome Street team please email Heather
Murphy at heathermurphy@nyu.edu.
