BCG Fundraiser for Spinal Muscular Atrophy!

ORGANIZED BY SAMM CRIFASI AND BCG

How would you like to help raise money and awareness for

Spinal Muscular Atrophy? SMA is a motor neuron disease that affects one

in every 10,000 children born each year in the US. Because of the

genetic malfunction, those affected are usually unable to walk, stand,

or even sit up on their own. This week, I'm organizing a

tabling fundraiser that will auction off raffle tickets for free meals

at local venues (free candy comes with the ticket, as well!) I would

like to reach out to the Broome community to see if anyone would like

to participate! All you'd need to do is sit at the table in the lobby

near the elevators and talk to your fellow residents. I've already

drawn up a flyer explaining everything, so don't be discouraged if you

don't know anything about SMA!

If you are interested, please contact

me at sac497@nyu.edu with any available times you'd want to

help between this week and next. All proceeds will be going to

"Friends of Philly," a non-profit organization created for one of my

close friend's little brother who is affected by the disease. Any

donations collected will help with costs that Philly's medical

insurance does not cover.
