The show address issues of meaning and memory in the context of various modes of display. The art is fabulous, with themes that include dream-work, childhood edginess, mail art, shrines, pornography, the relationship between text and textile, and The Odyssey as seen through the eyes of Penelope.

It gets even better: since the exhibit space is here at Broome (Apt. 412) where my family and I live (we're your neighbors!), it is an open house in the most literal sense. The show necessarily examines the public/private boundaries that we ordinarily associate with the concepts of house and home.

These themes are also especially relevant to me after having spent the past year living and working in Abu Dhabi, where the notion of public/private often resonates in vastly different ways than it does here in NYC.

Chic attire preferred, but grunge threads will be okay too.
